Wor Knitters are aspiring knitters from Blyth, home of Big Dan Burn.
Our mission is to bring "accessible knitting" to the North East; England; and eventually the world!
Wor Knitters was founded by a person with minimal crafting talent but massive ambition, self-belief ... and an inspiration to knit the Newcastle United team. This quickly snowballed to include the training staff, the Carabao Cup trophy, St James Park pitch and the winners bus winding its way to the Toon Moor. (Might Ant and Dec even make a special appearance, including a diversion past Greggs?)
Co-knitters/ crafters were quickly co-opted from family and friends. A diverse group, with equally basic crafting skills but a shared love of all things ‘Toon Army’, and a passion to bring a have-a-go spirit to the crafting world.
Interest from entry level knitters encouraged: the highly skilled need not apply (lol).
